Criteria and law allowing subsidized housing in the United States
Hud sets the criteria, according to which the right to set up subsidized housing is determined. These criteria vary from terrain to the terrain depending on the situation with housing. The main criteria are:
An annual income should be no more than 80% of median income in a given area. (Median income is defined as a value above and below which 50% of families receive.)
Age (pension) or the presence of disability.
Should be a US citizen or legal immigrant.
B1974 Congress of the United States adopted an addition to the 1937 law, allocated in "Section No. 8"(Section8), according to which, instead of the construction of state housing, money began to be allocated for payment of housing withdrawn by people with low income in the private sector.
