Location, area and brief description of Greece
Greece – the state in the southern part of Europe, is located in the lowland of the Balkan Peninsula. Borders on states such as Albania, Macedonia and Bulgaria, and is adjacent to Turkey from the east. This country has exits to 3 seas.The capital is Athens.
The area of this country is about 132 thousand km2. Greece includes the Balkan Peninsula (80% of the entire area of the country) and at least 2100 islands. The entire territory of the state is divided into conditionally by 3 composite:
1. Peloponnese peninsula;
2. Medical Greece;
3.Islands located in the seas.
The relief of the Greek territory is very diverse: there are mountains, fertile fields, and picturesque bays and islands here. In the west of the country there are many caves and rocks. Mount Olympus is the highest point of Greece.
