House in the style of chalet: distinguishing features, characteristics

July 13, 2018

If you are close to a simple village life and you would love to bring its elements to your city apartments, then pay attention to the style of chalet. Read more about how to bring to the house its elements read on the site: Remontinfo. ru, where you will find detailed descriptions and practical advice on transforming your interior, giving it individuality and immediacy, as well as algorithms for the necessary repair work.

The soft, delicate and merciful word “chalet” is rather associated with chic French chambers than a shepherd’s house. But, nevertheless, at the end of the era of the Middle Ages, the shawl houses were the only shelter of the shepherds who wanted to leave the bad weather, relax or just spend the night.

The basement was built of stone, and the second was wooden. The attachment of this was a gable roof, which, often, had a balcony and an attic.

In the summer season, Chalets performed the function of “temporary” farms, where the shepherds milk and looked after the sheep. In winter, the houses devastated and by the summer again waited for their unstable owners. Mountain houses looked “harsh” – quite to match the area. The basement was a high masonry that performed the functions of protection against cold and predatory animals. Often, a wooden attic was erected, serving directly with a shepherd room.

The houses were usually a rather small area, two floors high plus attic. Such architectural trust was the most convenient for the confrontation of the stern climate of the Alpine Mountains.
