Housing Law United States Housing Act
In 1937, the US Congress adopted a law called United States Housing Act (US Law on Housing), according to which, money from the federal budget was sent to specially created organizations called Rublic Housing Authorites (public housing administrations) under the control of local authorities. These organizations built and served housing complexes consisting of apartments rented on preferential conditions for residents with low income.
B present their number is approximately 1.3 million. In their composition includes individual or apartment buildings, as well as complexes for the elderly. About 3.300 Housing Authorites manage these apartments, receiving subsidies from the Ministry of Construction of Housing and the Development of Cities (The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development – Hud).
